OUR PASTOR

Soon after college, when confronted by the reality that The Church is made up of people and often times we don’t get it right, I stepped away from church…but not away from God. After 2 years, and experiencing the continued love and blessings from God, I realized that the church is the place where we can share and grow with others as we all seek to know and love God more and better.  Jesus did not come to hurt us…He came to heal the hurting from the effects of a fallen and sinful world that rejects Him and the love He gives (see Mark 2:17 and John 3:16, 17). And, He uses people to show this love…as imperfect as we are…amazing! This is at the heart of the message that we seek to live and speak as we reach out to our community through Aletheia Christian Church. Through the local church I have experienced healing in every area of my life, found purpose for my life, found opportunity to serve through my life, and found fulfilling relationships that enrich my life.  I personally invite you to open to the reality that God wants to show you, by the same grace, that you can overcome the hurts of life and live a life of healing, purpose, service and fulfilling relationships with God and people.

And that really is The Truth!

Music Ministry Pastor

Richard’s walk with the Lord began at the age of twelve after he saw a dramatic change in his father, Ricardo, as a result of his salvation. By age fifteen, Richard was baptized and subsequently joined the choir at Huntington Park Baptist Church. In 2003 he relocated to the Highland Park area of Los Angeles and stirred by the birth of his first daughter, Diana, he felt a strong desire to serve in music ministry locally. He joined the worship team at Christ’s Church in the City at Highland Park and two years later, he was made the worship leader. During this time he also explored classical music as a tenor in the Pasadena Master Chorale, collaborating with the Pasadena Symphony on sacred music. Christ’s Church in the City at Highland Park’s founder, Bill Pile, went home to be with the Lord and two years later the church had to close. Richard then served on the worship team at New City Church in Downtown Los Angeles until his move to Fontana in February of 2014 where he would once again begin his search for a new church home. The day after a rather long “walk and pray” session with his wife Frances he received a phone call from Pastor Don Bailey saying that he had obtained Richard’s number from a mutual friend and was looking for a worship leader for an upcoming Easter Sunday service. He accepted this “calling” and has been the worship leader at Aletheia Christian Church in Hacienda Heights ever since. His primary goal is to help people connect with God through worship music.
